Apply for roles

How do I apply for a role?

All casting jobs must be applied for directly through the Selfcast app. You cannot apply by email, WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook.

  1. Open the Selfcast app
  2. Log in or create your profile
  3. Update your profile with recent photos, video, CV, measurements and availability
  4. Go to Matches / Roles
  5. Tap Load more jobs if you cannot see the role
  6. Open the role and tap Apply
  7. Upload any requested photos, videos or notes directly to the role
I received an email about a role. Am I booked?

No. If the message does not clearly say that you are booked, then you are not booked yet.

The email means that a role matches your profile, or that a producer/caster has invited you to apply or look at the role. To be considered, open the Selfcast app, find the role and apply there.

I cannot see the role in the app
  1. Open the Selfcast app
  2. Go to Matches / Roles
  3. Tap Load more jobs
  4. Check if you have filters turned on
  5. Make sure your profile country, age, gender and talent type are correct
  6. Close the app completely and open it again
  7. If it still does not work, delete the app and download it again

If you still cannot see the role, contact support with your name, Selfcast email, role name and a screenshot.

Login and app issues

I cannot log in
  1. Make sure you are using the correct email address
  2. Delete the Selfcast app
  3. Download it again from App Store or Google Play
  4. Try logging in again
  5. Use Reset password if needed

Password reset emails can sometimes land in spam or junk folders, especially with Hotmail, Outlook and similar providers.

Update the app first

Many technical issues happen because the app is not updated.

  1. Delete Selfcast
  2. Restart your phone
  3. Download Selfcast again
  4. Log in again

If you have a Mac computer, you may also be able to download the Selfcast app on your Mac and use it from there.

Subscription and payment

How does the subscription work?

Selfcast subscriptions are paid for 3 months at a time. You do not pay for each application.

There are usually two types: National and International. When you are booked, you receive the full fee shown in the role. Selfcast does not take agency commission from your job fee.

How do I manage or upgrade my subscription?

iPhone:
Settings → Your name → Subscriptions → Selfcast

Android / Google Play:
Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Selfcast

Payment problems

Selfcast payments are handled by App Store or Google Play, not directly by Selfcast.

Please check that your card is active, correctly added, has the correct billing address, and that your App Store / Google Play country is correct.

If needed, remove the card and add it again. Then delete Selfcast, download it again, log in and try subscribing again.

I paid, but the app still asks me to subscribe
  1. Open Selfcast
  2. Go to Profile / Settings
  3. Tap Restore purchases once
  4. Close the app completely
  5. Open it again

If it still does not work, send us a screenshot of your App Store / Google Play subscriptions page showing Selfcast and the renewal or expiry date.

How do I cancel my subscription?

iPhone:
Settings → Your name → Subscriptions → Selfcast → Cancel subscription

Android:
Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Selfcast → Cancel subscription

Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

Profile, photos and videos

What should my profile include?
  • recent headshot
  • full-body photo
  • short intro video
  • updated CV / experience
  • correct measurements
  • availability
I cannot upload photos or videos

First, delete Selfcast, download it again and log in.

iPhone:
Settings → Selfcast → allow Photos, Camera, Microphone, Notifications and Background App Refresh.

Android:
Settings → Apps → Selfcast → Permissions → allow Camera, Photos/Videos, Files/Media and Microphone.

Children and families

How do I apply for children or family roles?

For child roles, it is best to have a profile for the child. For roles involving children under 18, the parent or guardian must manage the profile and communication.

If applying as a family, upload individual photos of each family member, one family photo, names and ages in the notes field, and write which family members are applying.

I have an agent

You can still use Selfcast if you have an agent. Please add your agent’s contact information in the relevant field on your profile.

Talents still need to apply through the app so producers and casting directors can see the application in the correct place.

Privacy and profile deletion

How do I delete my profile?

To delete your profile: Selfcast app → Profile / Settings → Delete account / Delete profile.

Deleting the app from your phone is not enough. Active subscriptions must still be cancelled separately through App Store or Google Play.

I want to stop receiving emails

If you no longer want emails from Selfcast, please delete your profile inside the app. If you cannot access your profile, contact support with your full name and the email used in Selfcast.

Who can see my profile?

Only approved producers, casting directors and relevant Selfcast partners can access talent profiles for casting purposes. Your profile is not visible to other talents.
